For a number of years at Welcome to the Asylum, the Ministry of Steampunk have raised money for charity through an auction at the Dead Dog Party.

At Asylum XIV in 2024 our main auction again took place at the Dead Dog Party, but we also auctioned some items at the Fashion Show. These auctions together with several miscellaneous donations rasied a total of £1,962 which has been passed on in equal shares (£654 each) to Water Aid, The Trussell Trust and Cancer Research UK.

The Steamstress Squadron raised £90 at the fabric swap and this has been donated to Dementia UK.

We were gifted two very special pens made by the late Glen Stuart from wood taken from the original TARDIS used in the Dr Who and the Daleks film. One of the pens was auctioned at the screening of the film and the other at the Dead Dog Party. The pens rasied a total of £500 which has been donated to Queenscourt at Home at the request of Glen's family.

For the first time this year we created an MoS charity pin. Sales of the pin have so far raised £975 which has been donated to Lend With Care, supporting sewing, farming and family projects. We have a few pins left and money raised from any future sales will also be used to support further projects.

The total raised for charity at Asylum XIV has therefore been £3,527.
