Having run successful Steampunk Halloween events in Hull in 2022 and 2023, the Ministry of Steampunk have this year decided to bring the event to Lincoln, based at The County Assembly Rooms on Bailgate.

The event will begin on Friday evening with Ghost Night, a musical evening featuring two of Steampunk's favourite bands.

First off, you can expect some spooky tunes from Jacob and Ellwood Brass, The Brass Brothers.

Next up and headlining the evening will be The Wight Hot Pipes, who also headlined Time Travellers at Asylum this year. Get ready for some fabulous covers, some of the band's original songs and a liberal dash of bagpipes.

During the day on Saturday we are planning a Steampunk Market and a variety of daytime features, activities and displays. This part of the event is still under construction, so be sure to check back for updates.

See also below for a peek at our ideas for the daytime on Sunday.

Saturday evening will be the centrepiece of the weekend, The Immortal Ball.

The Halloween theme lends itself perfectly to a Grand Halloween Ball with atmosphere, great food and this year the wonderful voice of Alice Strange who will be entertaining us after dinner.

The meal at The Immortal Ball will be a hot buffet with several choices, including of course a vegan option.

As for what to wear to The Immortal Ball the choice is absolutely yours. You can expect guests in regular Steampunk attire and in ball gowns, but also expect Immortals of all kinds, from ghosts to vampires to the Addams Family to Beetlejuice and all kinds of creatures in between.

The images below are taken from our previous two Immortal Balls held at The Guildhall in Hull. The County Assembly Rooms in Lincoln is an equally fabulous location for such a splended evening and you can expect a great deal of Steampunk Halloween fun.

On Sunday daytime we are planning a group photoshoot and potentially a promenade. After that we will  gather in the Assembly Rooms for a special community project - recreating a Steampunk version of Michael Jackson's classic 'Thriller'. We are principally aiming to create the dance routine but this will be done as a number of short sequences and cutaway shots to ensure that anyone can join in regardless of ability. We will aim to have the edit available to share by the end of the day.

Sunday won’t have traders present but we will be holding an Illicit Market although obviously you didn't read that here.

In 2023 we produced our first ever non-Asylum MoS medal for Halloween, as seen here. Only 100 were made and they sold out very quickly.

For 2024 we have designed a new spooky Steampunk Halloween medal. We don't have the finished product in hand yet but here is the design with three bats. We will be ordering slightly more than last year - but not a lot!

This year's Steampunk Halloween medals will be available to pre-order when sales for Ghost Night and The Immortal Ball go on sale in the near future.
