THE MINISTRY OF STEAMPUNK
Introduction
Weekend at the Asylum would not be complete without a line-up of fabulous evening events and for AXV we believe we have the most exciting set of evening events to date.

Back at the closing ceremony of Asylum XIV we announced that Steam Powered Giraffe will be returning to play AXV and then in December 2024 we let the cat out of the bag that Abney Park will also be playing at AXV, so we have the two biggest Steampunk bands in the world, both flying over to AXV to play the same event.

Age restrictions for Airship Pirates Ahoy! and Time Travellers
After discussion with the venue we have been able to reduce the age restriction for the two concerts at the Engine Shed to age 14+. Please note that under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Don't forget, these bands have been booked to play at a Steampunk festival, primarily for the enjoyment of those attending the festival. They and the other bands playing the same nights have not been asked to put on child-friendly entertainment. The majority of the people at the events will be adult and there is likely to be some adult content.

Abney Park and SPG will be headlining the evenings and will not play until later on, probably after 9 PM.. Please do think carefully if you are planning to bring under 16's along to either night.

Only ticket holders aged 14 and over will be admitted to the venue.

So what will be happening on which night at AXV?

Thursday night will start with the Advanced Guard and this year musical entertainment will be provided by Captain Kuppa-T and the Zeppelin Crew.

On Friday you have two choices. At the Engine Shed Abney Park will be headlining our Airship Pirate Night with support from Box Set and The Captain's Beard. Also on Friday night we have our first Asylum Cyberpunk Night taking place at the County Assembly Rooms.

Saturday night we have the DecoDance at the County Assembly Rooms and the Asylum Variety Show at Lincoln Arts Centre (LAC) which is next to the Engine Shed.

On Sunday you will be spoiled for choice again. Time Travellers at the Engine Shed will be headlined by Steam Powered Giraffe supported by Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. and Victor and the Bully. The Asylum Burlesque this year will be taking place at the County Assembly Rooms.

Finally, on Monday evening, we have the Dead Dog party with music from the Wight Hot Pipes.

Evening events require prebooked tickets. Admission to the Advance Guard is restricted to those who have proof of purchase of a weekend wristband as well as a ticket to the event. Admission to the Dead Dog Party will require a festival wristband as well as a ticket to the event.
All other evening events are open to those with or without wristbands although for obvious reasons (i.e. to fund the daytime content of the festival) we hope that as many as possible will buy daytime wristbands to support the event.

As it says elsewhere on the website, free carer’s daytime wristbands are available to adult wristband holders (see the wristband and FAQ pages for further details) however we are sorry but we are not able to provide free carer tickets for evening shows. The venues we use for evening shows do all have disabled access.
