Weekend at the Asylum XV
Introduction
Weekend at the Asylum is the longest running and biggest steampunk event in the world. It attracts Steampunks from many other countries we want to make AXV a special celebration of International Steampunk as well as Steampunk in the UK

'Steampunk around the World' Symposium
As part of the programming for AXV we will be including a symposium on 'Steampunk around the World'. We anticipate that this will be a combination of short talks and panel discussions so that Steampunks visiting from other countries can share their experiences of Steampunk and we can all find out about what makes Steampunks 'tick' in other countries. Neither the time nor the location are fixed yet, but the symposium is likely to take place in the Edwardian Suite of the County Assembly Rooms on Sunday afternoon.

At this stage we are inviting our international friends to get in touch. Let us know you are coming, and tell us if you would to either give a short presentation or take part in a panel discussion. If you have a different idea for another way to celebrate our world-wide Steampunk friendship, then we would be delighted to hear about that too. The Most Honourable Legion of Extraordinary Foreigners
Created in 2016,​ the Most Honourable Legion of Extraordinary Foreigners was set up to enable Steampunks coming from other countries to get together and take part in a feature called The Queen's Parade. The first meeting of the Legion involved 61 people from 19 countries. The Legion has grown over time and now includes Steampunks from many more countries. Foreign steampunks coming to AXV will be welcome to parage with the Legion under their banner during the Grand Promenade which will take place on Monday.
